Training for Flexibility - Our guest this week is Thomas Kurz, author of Stretching Scientifically. We discuss training methods that increase your power and flexibility while also reducing your risk of self-inflicted injury during a criminal assault. When we workout and practice, it is always with a good warm-up and stretching. However, when you are in a spontaneous confrontation, you do not get a warm-up. This week we look at some of the physiology behind strength training and how it applies to true self-defense. (c) 2010 Palladium Education, Inc. Podcast Technical Details
I use a Heil PR 40 dynamic microphone (and a Behringer C-1 when I am interviewing someone) connected to a XENYX 1622FX analog mixer with USB interface. The XENYX is in turn connected to my Apple MacPro. I use Soundtrack Pro 2 from Apple's Final Cut Studio software suite for all recording and editing. When on the road I use a Marantz PMD660 portable solid state recorder for interviewing. The theme music is called Zombie Chase by Kevin MacLeod and is used under a Creative Commons license. I publish the podcast at 80 kbps, 44.1 kHz, mono.
